Frequently asked questions
JPG or PNG: which should I use?
JPG gives smaller files and is best for sharing and photos. PNG keeps text and lines sharpest and is better for documents you will zoom into.
What resolution do I need?
Screen (96 dpi) is enough for chats and websites. Normal (150 dpi) is a good all-round choice. Print (300 dpi) gives the sharpest result and the biggest files.
Why is a page smaller than 300 dpi?
Phones can only draw images up to about 16 million pixels. Very large pages are scaled down just enough to fit, so the download still works.
