Frequently asked questions
When does overtime start?
Under the federal FLSA, non-exempt employees earn overtime for hours over 40 in a workweek, at 1.5 times the regular rate. Some states, like California, also have daily overtime.
How do I enter an overnight shift?
Enter the real times, for example in at 10:00 PM and out at 6:00 AM. When the out time is earlier than the in time, the calculator counts it as overnight.
