Frequently asked questions
What is a reorder point?
It is the stock quantity at which you must reorder. It equals the sales you expect during the supplier's lead time, plus a safety buffer for unusual demand.
What are average and maximum values?
Use the average daily sales and average lead time for the normal case, and the highest daily sales and longest lead time you have seen. The gap between them is your safety stock.
